Colonel E. J. Moran was a professor of military science and tactics and commander of the ROTC unit at University of California, Los Angeles. He was the commander of the ROTC at UCLA from 1932-1934 at which point he retired from the army.
Frank J. Baum was the son of Frank L. Baum who wrote the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Frank J. Baum wrote a biography about his father, and helped with the creation of the Wizard of Oz movie. He was also a Lt. Col and a lawyer.
Newly named general of the United States James H. McRae will make several other stops in Southern California before returning to his San Francisco headquarters.
