Description:
Photograph of passengers standing on ship decks as they travel aboard the S. S. Catalina Island. In the foreground at left, a man's head is in partial view along the bottom edge. Behind him, a set of stairs ascends to a higher deck. A girl holds onto the handrail as she descends the steps. Behind her, about a couple dozen passengers stand behind the deck's rail and face towards the camera. Above and behind them, the bridge's deck stretches across the image. Both decks are in partial view; they enter frame from the left and extend just past center at right. Several passengers stand on a lower deck at right. Beyond them, a harbor is visible in the background.

Close-up view of woven baskets on display in the front window of an old building in Jacksonville. The brick wall of the building lines the right and left edges of image, surrounding the window. A wood-framed window sits recessed in a brick wall. Behind the window pane, a small exhibit of baskets is on display. Three round panning baskets hang at center from the top of the window. Two baskets stand along the bottom ledge of the window; a short, square basket is at left and a taller, rounded basket is at center. A framed information placard sits in front of the taller basket and another placard sits to the right of it. The sign at center reads, "Building in which the women and children of Jacksonville took refuge when the [?????] River[?] Indians made their last raid on the white settlers in 18?6 [...]." The sign at right reads, "DISCOVERY OF GOLD Gold was discovered in Jacksonville by James Cluggage[?] in 1851. Cluggage and his partner, a man by the name of Pool, were carrying supplies by pack train from Yreka [????] in the Willamette Valley at the [...]."

Photograph of an historical marker for the Oregon Trail posted in Meacham. The marker stands at center, it reads, "HISTORIC OREGON TRAIL MEACHAM FIRST KNOWN AS LEE'S ENCAMPMENT FROM ESTABLISHMENT OF A TROOP CAMP BY MAJOR H. A. G. LEE IN 1844. A. B. AND HARVEY MEACHAM OPERATED FAMOUS "MOUNTAIN HOUSE" HERE WHICH GAVE THE TOWN ITS PRESENT NAME. IN LATER YEARS A FAMOUS RAILROAD EATING HOUSE, "THE LOG CABIN," BECAME NATIONALLY KNOWN UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF GRANDMA MUNRA, A WELL-KNOWN PIONEER FIGURE. ON JULY 3, 1923, MEACHAM WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE UNITED STATES WHEN PRESIDENT WARREN G. HARDING STOPPED FOR A DAY AND PARTICIPATED IN THE EXERCISES COMMEMORATING THE EIGHTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE COVERED WAGON MIGRATION OF 1843." H., Jr. is leftmost. He leans back slightly and props his foot up on wooden stick protruding from the ground while he rests a gun across his leg. His friend stands with legs crossed and rests his hands atop his gun. Both look to the camera while wearing their helmets and uniforms. The front of the Quonset hut stretches directly behind them. In the foreground, the side of the ship stretches vertically along the right edge. Below the ship, a dock lined by a couple of warehouses stretches back at right. To the left of the rightmost building, a dilapidated dock stretches towards the lower left corner.
