Portrait of Alfred L. Wilkes, dentist, who drowned when his boat overturned while he was sailing with his son, Huston (Barney) Wilkes, from San Pedro to Santa Catalina Island. Huston was rescued the next morning after clinging to both the boat and his father's body for many hours.

Dr. Mayo has saved Mrs. Gilliland from going to jail after she failed to pay a fine for $15 for speeding in a 20 mph zone. Gilliland claimed to be picking up Dr. Mayo to see patient Julo De Cunrut for her wrist injury. Dr. Mayo showed up to corroborate Mrs. Gilliland's story and pay the $15.

Dr. Raymond L. Carey with the honeybees he uses to treat patients' arthritis. Dr. Carey’s laboratory was one of a half dozen places in the world that used honeybee venom to treat arthritis. One of the causes of arthritis is a lack of oxidation which is stimulated by the venom from a honeybee sting.

Description:
Articles that reference Dr. Leo Baughman do not focus on his dental career, although he was a prominent dentist and member of the California State board of dental examination. Baughman was also a speedboat racing enthusiast, owning several world record-holding boats (each one named Blue Streak). Baughman often acted as chief timer for regatta races.
