Description:: On October 8, 1932, Charles H. Scull was shot and killed. Libbie and Albert Olson were accused of murdering Scull over a potentially new will, which would remove the Olsons as primary beneficiaries. While originally found guilty, they appealed and a panel of judges determined the evidence presented was insufficient and ordered a new trial. In January 1933, the Olsons were acquitted.

He founded a hospital in Dessie and was the superintendent of Zauditu Memorial Sanitarium and Hospital in Addis Ababa. When Italy was ready to invade Ethiopia in 1935, he sent his family back to Los Angeles, but he remained to take care of any casualties.
