Portrait photograph of Judge Guy F. Bush and his second wife, Leila Hewitt LeGrand Bush.
copy photo
Judge Guy F. Bush was known for having at least six wives, most married for brief periods with tumultuous divorces. He stepped down from being a judge after the scandal of marrying his second wife, Leila LeGrand Bush, who had been married to a man Judge Bush put away for grand theft, John H. LeGrand, and then reduced his sentence once Leila divorced him. Judge Bush and Leila LeGrand married in Tijuana after Bush's divorce from his first wife, Grace E. Bush, finalized.
This photograph appeared with the articles "Bush Bride Once Wife of Convict," Los Angeles Times, 31 Oct 1934: 1 and "Judge Bush Marriage Under Investigation," Los Angeles Times, 14 Nov 1934: 1.
