Facing investigation in connection with his handling of the estate of Mrs. Mary J. Chamberlain, Lucas F. Smith, an attorney, was reported by authorities yesterday afternoon to have been in a spectacular dash of his automobile, in which a District Attorney’s investigator, Duffey Seay, was also riding, through a heavy rail on Huntley Drive and a careening trip of some 250 feet down a precipitous hill leading to Second street.
