Photograph of a large, "No Smoking" sign standing on a wharf in New Orleans. The dock stretches across the foreground and into the mid-ground. In the near distance at center, a sign stands and it reads, "NO SMOKING $100[.]00 FINE." Beyond it, 2 ships in partial view are moored at the dock. The [Del] Norte sits directly beyond the sign; its bow extends out-of-frame at right. A building on the dock stands in partial view along the right edge. The second ship is docked at left; it too is in partial view. In the far distance, the opposite shore is barely visible in the gap between the 2 ships. Streaks of white light stretch upwards along the bottom edge.

Description:
Photograph of a wood-carved marker standing at an intersection in Field, British Columbia. The marker stands in the near distance, left-of-center. It is surrounded by a circle of rocks. The marker appears to be carved out of wood. A post rises through the center of the marker. It has a bulbous base. At the top, small beams jut outward from the post. Signs hang down beneath the beams. The signs read, "FIELD [left pointing arrow]," "BUSINESS SECTION," "EMERALD LAKE 7," and "GOLDEN 37." Behind it, a dirt road passes across the image. A cluster of pines stands on the far side of the road at center and right. In the distance at left, Kicking Horse River is barely visible.

Description:
Photograph of a Rocky Mt. Tours Co. bus parked beneath a sign spanning over the road indicating the Great Divide, while en route from Lake Louise to Field. The road spans the width of the bottom frame. It narrows as it stretches back on a curve to the left and out-of-frame. Along the right side of the road, in the foreground, a Rocky Mt. Tours Co. bus is parked. It is viewed at an angle from the rear. On the back of the bus it reads, "ROCKY MT. TOURS CO.," and its license plate reads, "BUS-2384 ALBERTA C[...]." A post and lintel sign constructed from timber logs hovers over the road. Across the horizontal log beam it reads, "GREAT DIVIDE." In the near distance at right, a mountain rises, extending out-of-frame. A snow covered mountain rises in the far distance at left.

Photograph of a handwritten sign on cloth stretched between 2 sticks standing in front of a tree at the Rubber Men's Picnic held in Santa Monica Canyon. The sign stands at center, it reads, "This is The House of Prestolite That Works By Day, goes Out At Night. iT starts You cussin give it a Rest. And work off your lights on Light Guy West." A tree stands directly behind the sign. It rises out of the ground at right and extends on an upward angle to the left and out-of-frame along the top edge. A man (partial view) sits in front of the tree and to the right of the sign along the right edge of the image. In the distance at left, a few men stand in a clearing, 2 of them are at a table. A cliff face rises behind them.

The signs are posted to a telephone pole that stands off to the right side of a road. The signs are viewed from the front and sit low on the pole. They read, "SANTA CLAUS LODGE," and "PAUSE...DRINK Coca-Cola." Tall grasses and utility poles stretch into the distance along the right side. The road enters frame along the bottom edge and from the left. The junction merges to the left of H. H. West. The road stretches into the distance behind H. H. on angle to the right.
