- Description
- Photograph of Mertie West standing in the road and posing in front of a sign for the Kicking Horse Tea Room in Yoho National Park. Mertie West stands in the foreground, left-of-center, and looks to camera. The road she stands upon spans the width of the bottom frame and stretches back on an angle to the left. A rocky hillside rises up from the right side of the road and along the right edge. Tall pines stand on the hillside. A sign, left-of-center, stands to the right of Mertie and rises from the hillside. The sign reads, "KICKING HORSE TEA [horse figure in silhouette] ROOM LIGHT LUNCHES SEE [illegible text] SPIRAL TUNNEL." Tall mountains at center rise in the distance.
