- In the near distance at center, the U.S.S. Tennessee lists towards camera while anchored in San Pedro Bay during a naval drill. It is viewed from its stern and starboard side. Two lifeboats, one aft and one forward, are moored to masts that extend from the near side of the battleship. Across the stern it reads, "TENNESSEE," and an American flag waves at half-mast. San Pedro Bay's waters occupy the foreground.
