Description:
Arrangement of musical genre Frevo for the performance of military police band of the state of Pernambuco in Brazil. At the beginning of the 20th century, the band was named after its maestro Captain Zuzinha (José Lourenço da Silva). Historically, military police arrangements were created by several popular composers. Since 2012, UNESCO has recognized Frevo, the traditional rhythm of Pernambuco's Carnival, as an intangible heritage of humanity.

SWAHILI: Shairi hili la Ustadh Mau liliandikwa kwa ajili ya mkewe Sauda ambaye alikwenda safarini. Shairi linaeleza jinsi anavyotamani uwepo wake na jinsi anavyohisi huzuni kwa sababu ya umbali huo. Anaeleza jinsi alivyotambua mapenzi yake yalivyokuwa mazito kwake baada ya muda na anamsihi arudi haraka kwani hawezi kuzuia hamu yake tena.<br>ENGLISH: This poem by Ustadh Mau was written for his wife Sauda who went away on a trip. The poem expresses how much he misses her presence and how he feels sadness because of this distance. He describes how he realized how deep his love has become for her over time and urges her to come back quickly as he cannot contain his longing for her anymore.
