Empresarios, Tomo II
- Description:
- The monograph describes the configuration of the business class during the sixties and seventies, within the framework of the Internal Armed Conflict. It analyzes the process of incorporation of military commanders into the hegemonic classes and business sectors. The development and economic growth contrasts with the increase of inequality and poverty of the population. This model of capitalist development is favored by the enclaves of transnational corporations, mainly from the United States, which favors the penetration of financial monopoly capital. The alliance of the business sector and the army was no stranger to conflict. The struggles were constant, which fragmented the political hegemony. Social organizations were subjected to violent repression (which at the time got out of control), with the aim of neutralizing any popular initiative that would threaten the business model of the Guatemalan elites.

Subsequently, it studies the impact of the guerrilla struggle on the community, their relationship with the communities, their strategies and responsibility in the repression. The monograph addresses complex issues, such as ethnic contradictions and the role of women in the revolutionary movement. Finally, it summarizes the mechanisms of repression and genocide of the K'iche people, as part of the State's counterinsurgency policies.

Las Patrullas de Autodefensa Civil (Extractos de testimonios)
- Description:

- Description:
- The monograph includes the study of the application of economic development theories, based on Keynesianism and ECLAC recommendations. The economic policies promoted by the State contrasted with the sociocultural reality of Guatemala, particularly with the direct resistance of the hegemonic groups, to which aspects such as industrialization, modernization of the financial system, training of human and physical capital, were perceived as mechanisms promoted by the leftist ideology. Economic development as a model and its actual application is the main contribution of this study.
