- View of the Ada E. Bowers Memorial Fountain in the courtyard of the Bowers Museum, with a statue of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, discoverer of California, and bas-relief scenes behind the statue and along the base of the fountain. To the left of Cabrillo is a rocky formation from which water issues. Behind Cabrillo are 3 scenes including Cabrillo and companions facing Indians on the sea shore with a ship in the ocean in the distance, a mission church, and Indians in a wooden carat (carretta) drawn by oxen. At the base are 8 bas-relief scenes apparently depicting episodes from the mission era and later settlement by ranchers and farmers. A plaque in the center bears the text "Mrs. Bowers Memorial Fountain."
