SPANISH: Leocadio Choque Poma graba la historia de Villa Belén y sus necesidades actuales: 1. Villa Belén pertenece a la marka y los ayllus de Qaqachaka. 2. La escuela cuenta con un maestro y sus autoridades o directiva, que incluyen el alcalde escolar, presidente, junta auxiliar y agente auxiliar. SPANISH: Denise Y. Arnold realiza una grabación de la lectura del folleto titulado "Tata Inti" N°1, Ediciones Chunka, de abril 1991, escrito por Ahutu Qispi Wara. El documento es la historia en larga duración sobre Qaqachaka, desde el periodo de los incas hasta la actualidad. Ella inicia leyendo la parte 2 que trata sobre los incas y la relación con la familia Maraza, como Inca Tata Maraza, y así de la importancia de ellos en la historia de Qaqachaka. También menciona a la familia Chuqi (o Choque) y la distribución de tierras, y la lucha por la tierra durante la Colonia por los Maraza, y su participación en la Guerra del Chaco. Esta lucha por la propiedad de la tierra fecha desde inicios del siglo XX. Ella también menciona la lucha territorial entre Jukumani y Laymi.<br>ENGLISH: Denise Y. Arnold makes a recording of the reading of the pamphlet titled "Tata Inti" N°1, Chunka Editions, from April 1991, written by Ahutu Qispi Wara. The document is the long-term history of Qaqachaka, from the period of the Incas to the present. She starts by reading part 2 which deals with the Incas and the relationship with the Maraza family as Inca Tata Maraza, and so of their importance in the history of Qaqachaka. She also mentions the Chuqi (or Choque) family and the distribution of land, the fight for land during the Colony by the Marazas, and their participation in the Chaco War. This struggle for land ownership is from the beginning of the 20th century. She also mentions the fights between Jukumani and Laymi.

La mula y el burro son animales de carga (jucha q’ipi). La oveja (uwija) sirve de ofrenda para los cerros (qullu). Las gallinas (wallpa) so consideradas alimento que proporcionan fuerza. Las llamas (qarwa) tienen varios usos, por ejemplo, como alimento, de carga, de ofrenda y son consideradas de buena suerte. SPANISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold de los siguientes temas: 1. Las haciendas y sus trabajadores. Las mujeres eran denominadas pongo y los hombres mit'ani. Las pongo realizaban las siguientes funciones: traer agua (uma wayuña), cocinar (phayaña), tejer textiles a mano (sawuña). Los hombres se dedicaban a los cultivos (yapuña) y a las minas. 2. El pago de la tasa (kuyakachi) en los ayllus del Norte de Potosí. 3. Que los hacendados de esta región fueron Emilio Tapia, hacendado de Sakana, Zacarías Intija, Félix Fernández, hacendado de Churitaka, Enrique Masica, hacendado de Tambo K’asa y Luciano Urista, y estos hacendados maltrataban a los pongos y mit'anis. La historia de Potosí conocido antiguamente como Jóven Potosí (Wayna Putusi) y que era una sola comunidad dividido en Alaxsaya, Majasaya, Urinsaya y Qawiqisaya, en el período inca. Que los criollos y mestizos (q’ara) dividieron el Alto Perú en departamentos. Potosí es conocido como Putusi o Phutuxchi, y los ayllus más conocidos son Macha y Laymi, y cada uno tiene dos "hermanos". Laymi que está dividido en dos hermanos: Puraka Laymi y Laymi Ayllu. Los alimentos (manq’aña) en que cada alimento cuenta con tres espíritus: animu, janayu y ajayu. La papa (ch’uqi) es considerada la madre (tayka) y existen diferentes clases (kasta): papa person (jaqi ch’uqi) que es varón, papa niña (imilla ch’uqi), papa gris (uqi jaqi ch’uqi), papa negra (chiyar jaqi ch’uqi) y otros. En relación con el maíz (paq’ula), el grano es el espíritu (ajayu) y el corazón o centro (thuru) es el janayu. Hay diferentes clases: El maíz amarillo (q’illu chacha) y el maíz blanco (janq'u warmi). Con el trigo (tiriwu) para hacer pan hay dos clases: negro (chiyar) y blanco (janq’u). La arveja (ch’uqall mamala) y la oca (apilla) tienen tres espíritus. SPANISH: Asunta Arias Tarque y su hija Flora Choque Arias, guiadas por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, realizan diálogos en aymara sobre los siguientes temas: 1. Saludar a su padre, el uso de los verbos aymara para llamar (jawsaña), y para llegar (puriña), sobre su casa, el tejido y los diseños (salta), el verbo aymara para cocinar (payaña), sobre la enfermedad (usuta) y el verbo aymara para cargar (q’ipiña). En respuesta a preguntas, ellas describen las actividades en el mes de agosto, quienes toman (umaña), qué comen (maq’aña), que comprarían (alasiña) si tuviesen mucho dinero, me enseñas a tejer (sawuña), sobre el tiempo de milagros, sobre los nombres (suti) de los parientes, sobre las causas de emborracharse (machaña), cómo se elabora la chicha de maíz (k’usa), sobre quién hace pan (t’ant’a) y el costo de esto. In reply to questions, they describe the activities in the month of August, who drinks (umaña), what they eat (maq'aña), what they would buy (alasiña) if they had a lot of money, if you would teach me to weave (sawuña), about the time of miracles, about the names (suti) of their relatives, about the causes of getting drunk (machaña), how corn beer (k'usa) is made, about who makes bread (t'ant'a) and the costs of these. Then Flora recites “Mi ropita” and sings a popular song (kirki) “Yotaleña” that she learned at school. She also sings “Anata” which she learned from her aunt.

SPANISH: María Ayca Llanque habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre tres temas: 1. La montaña local Jujchu llamada Niña María Jujchu T’alla. Le dan de comer (manq'aña) doce platos, que incluye la papa deshidratada (ch'uñu), mote de maíz, mote de haba, harina tostada con agua (phiri), harina de trigo (tirak phiri), arveja, carne (aycha), tripas cocidas (jiphilla wayku o chunchulla), fideo, arroz, y por encima le colocan maíz molido y lo ponen al pie de Jujchu. Este rito se hace cuando llegan de los valles (likina) las llamas delanteros, como una forma de pedir al cerro que las llamas (qarwa) sean protegidas en los viajes y de los zorros (liq’uchi) durante el pastoreo. Narra del cerro Phiri Phiri es considerado el hijo de la montaña Jujchu y de la montaña Turu. Jujchu sería la mujer, porque desde allí desciende el agua (jujchu jalaqiri), y Turu es el hombre. 2. Luego habla de los pasantes de las fiestas devocionales. Cuenta que, para la fiesta de Candelaria, su papá fue pasante y preparó cerveza de maíz (k’usa). Para la comida, hizo matar llamas y ovejas, y primero sirvieron la comida amarilla en un caldo de gallina (wallpa kaltu) y carne de oveja teñida con palillo, con mote, asado de carne (aycha kanka), caldo de papalisa y caldo de ch'uñu. Comenta que ella fue pasante de la fiesta de Mama Guadalupe y de jovencita (palachu) ha pasado la fiesta de San Antonio. También asumió el cargo de postillón en el tambo de Livichuco. 3. Luego habla de cómo ella aprendió a tejer (sawuña) por ella misma y cómo, desde que era joven, le enseñaron varios diseños (salta) las chicas Julita y Guadalupe Ayca. Por eso ella sabe hilar (qapuña), tejer (sawuña) y cantar (kirkiña) tanto wayñus como rezos.<br>ENGLISH: María Ayca Llanque talks with Juan de Dios Yapita and Denise Y. Arnold about three topics: 1. The local Jujchu mountain called Niña María Jujchu T’alla. They feed her (manq'aña) twelve dishes, which include dehydrated potatoes (ch'uñu), corn mote, broad bean mote, toasted flour with water (phiri), wheat flour (tirak phiri), peas, meat (aycha), cooked tripe (jiphilla wayku or chunchulla), noodles, rice, and on top they put ground corn and then put it at the foot of Jujchu. This rite is performed when the llamas arrive from the valleys (likina), as a way of asking the mountain to protect the llamas (qarwa) when traveling, and from foxes (liq'uchi) while grazing. She narrates that Mount Phiri Phiri is considered the son of the Jujchu and Mount Turu. Jujchu would be the woman, because water descends from there (jujchu jalaqiri), and Turu is the man. 2. She then talks about the sponsors of the devotional feasts. She explains that her father was the sponsor for the Candlemas feast and prepared the corn beer (k'usa).
