West, Jr. stands behind them on components of the mill. He stands atop a plank that hovers above the ground and reaches over his head to pull on a large wooden lever. The windmill's vane lies, fallen to the ground, at right, behind Agnes Whitaker. The rather barren landscape stretches behind the group. A privy stands in the far distance at left.
