Text in notragir, written in one column of 27-29 lines. Subtitles in red notragir, and initials throughout the text in large erkat’agir or notragir. There are many lacunae in the codex and numerous leaves have been misbound; hence a number of gatherings have an uneven number of leaves. The codex at one time had at least 15 quires, with gatherings of 12 leaves.
206 folios. Text in notragir, written in one column: folios 1-195 have 23-25 lines each, and folios 196-206 have 31-32. The quires have not been numbered; however, the gatherings appear to have 8 leaves each.
The volume also includes lectures on astronomy, sound, Mechanicks (by Mr. Wrigley), and a compendium of technical chronology. The lectures were probably transcribed by John Lord.
In Psalms, strings of words were missing, but were then inserted above the line or after the line by the same scribe. These additional words (often ten or twelve in a row) are written in the same hand, but smaller.
The formal text is accompanied by extensive notes in the margin in Amharic, called 'anedemtā' commentary, which serves as a reminder to the reader of commentaries about the specific words or passages next to which the notes are written.
