She is observing a snail taking flight from the plant, while another snail (without wings) sits on a leaf. It appears that the girl has just served the first snail with the tonic, causing it to sprout wings and take flight. The grounded snail awaits the chance to experience for itself the invigorating properties of the tonic. Reversde side is text only, which shows through the front.
