Handwritten text: "Monday morning Dec 20, 1943. Dear Mr West: Thanks again for the picture, and when the boys saw it they all wanted one too. If you will have one for each of the boys made or send me the negative I will be glad to pay for it. The boys are from left to right. Elwood S McClintic P.R.1/c. 'Mickey'. William D. Johnston, 36th Reg. Co A. 'Johnnie'. Paul A Word 4th Marine Div. 'Paul'. Edward C Shaw N.A. 1/c 'Eddie'. Robert L Ward U.S.N. F.M.F. 'Bob'. Photograph of Gladys Carter, Frances Walker and Frank E. Walker (also possibly Frank L. Walker) in happier times before Carter allegedly murdered Frances Walker. Walker had been a houseguest with Gladys Carter and her husband, Deputy Sheriff Archie Carter, for two years. When Walker and Carter got into a heated argument over whether Walker was cheating with Carter's husband Carter shot Walker and then shot herself in the breast. Frank L. Walker was Frances Walker's father.

Description:
Photograph of murder victim Marilyn Bunker wearing a white dress. Marilyn was shot by 17-year-old Donald Rogers, also known as Donald Fehrenschild, while she was playing on a hill with her little brother and other children. Rogers shot at the children from the upstairs window of his home. However, Rogers insisted that he was trying to shoot doves he had seen on the hillside.

Photograph of cowboy motion picture extra John Ainsworth Tyacke a.k.a. Johnny Tyke, who was murdered by fellow extra Jerome "Blackjack" Ward in Gower Gulch, the name given to the area near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street where film extras hang out waiting for work. Allegedly, Blackjack shot Tyke with a .45, but many of the hundreds of Gower Gulch extras who came to the trial testified that Tyke had started the fight and was “doped up” at the time. Blackjack entered a plea of not guilty based on self defense and temporary insanity and he was ultimately set free.
