John Anson Ford was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors from 1934-1958. He was a member of the state Democratic Central Committee in the 1940's and 1950's. In 1976, the County of Los Angeles named a performing arts theatre the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre in honor of the county supervisor.
