George Haldeman was an American aviator, who in 1928 participated in a transcontinental race from New York to Los Angeles. He was forced to land for oil in New Mexico. The end point of the air race George Haldeman participated in was Mines Field in Los Angeles. Mines Field would soon become what is now Los Angeles International Airport.
