Felipe de Neve was the founder of the city of Los Angeles. The 7 foot high statue of De Neve was set in the 1873 pool at the center of the Plaza facing the Plaza Church. The statue was donated by the Daughters of the Golden West.

Protesters gather at the intersection of Plaza St. and Sanchez St. in Los Angeles. There are men and women in the crowds, and a a podium is visible. A man holds a sign that says "WE DEMAND RECOGNITION OF ALL COMMITTEES UNEMPLOYED" and there are many other signs protesting other intolerable conditions.
