Description:: Coroner's jury at the inquest for Paul A. Wright. Wright is accused of the murder of his wife, Evelyn, and best friend, John Kimmel. Wright confessed to shooting the pair in a fit of "white hot rage" after finding them in an embrace in his home. After the inquest, complaints were signed against Wright for the two deaths. A trial, called the "white flame" trial by the press, followed in which Wright was eventually let off on an insanity plea, thanks to his lawyer Jerry Giesler.

Description:: Albert Dyer, a 32 year old W.P.A crossing guard who confessed to the murders of three Inglewood girls, at his trial. Dyer admitted to luring the girls; Madeline Everett (9), Melba Everett (7), and Jeanette Stephens (8) into the woods on the pretense of helping them catch rabbits and then strangled them in succession. Extra deputy sheriffs were on guard outside the trial to control the crowds of angry and thrill-seeking people they expected would come to witness the trial of this heinous crime. Dyer was sentenced to death after the jury's two day debate. On September 16, 1938 at San Quentin Prison, Dyer was one of the last people to be hung in the state of California
