Keeper E. D. Hardy, Frank Mellus and John A. Hunter pose with strings of ducks, Seal Beach vicinity, 1916
- Description:
- Photograph, from left to right, of Keeper E. D. Hardy, Frank Mellus and John A. Hunter posing with their guns and strings of ducks in the wetlands at the Sunset Gun Club. The group stands left-of-center and all look to the camera. E. D. Hardy stands at left. A string of ducks hang from one of his shoulders. Behind him at center, Frank Mellus stands on the top step of a stile; elevated above both Hardy and Hunter. Strings of ducks hang draped over his upper body while he holds onto the barrel of rifle. To the right of Frank and the stile, John A. Hunter stands on the ground and poses. He too is draped in strings of ducks and holds onto the barrel of a gun. Wire fencing stretches to the right from the stile, behind John Hunter and out-of-frame at right. Behind the group, marshlands extend into the distance.
