Description:: The original Los Angeles County Courthouse was built in 1891 on Poundcake Hill on the corner of Temple and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. The Victorian-style red sandstone building was declared unsafe after a 1933 earthquake, and demolished in 1936. Standing next to it was the Hall of Records.
