Ship's observation lounge, viewed from the bow, Alaska en route, 1946
- Description:
- Photograph of the ship's observation lounge as viewed from a deck below on the bow. A few ship cabins are viewed at an angle from the front (or bow), looking abaft. They sit off-center to the left. The cabins stand 3 decks tall. Portholes line the lowest deck. A rail lines the promenade that passes across the front of the second deck (observation lounge). The observation lounge is lined by windows and sits recessed between a lower and upper deck. The upper deck contains a cabin at center that is lined by portholes. Observation areas extend to the right and left of the upper cabin. In the background, a portion of a funnel is visible billowing dark smoke.
