The University of California at Los Angeles Bruin Band welcomed Sousa upon arrival and escorted him through the city. Sousa is seen here conducting the band on a train platform. [Note: A Los Angeles Times article contemporary to the event suggests that the actual date of Sousa's arrival was October 29, 1928]
