Description:
John H. Ozmun is pictured in his "Highwheeler" Model 3 Holsman automobile, after completing a cross-country drive from Akron, Ohio to San Diego, California. The Holsman Model 3 was manufactured by the Holsman Automobile Company of Chicago, Illinois from 1902 to 1910. The car averaged twenty miles to the gallon during its trip to the West coast, a trip which took Ozmun twenty-six days. Ozmun later drove the Model 3 across the country again, to attend the 1939 World Fair in New York.

Description:
Automobile driven by Dick Russell and a bus full of Chamber of Commerce ladies that competed in a race as part of a "Don't be April fools, obey Traffic rules" campaign to prove that safe driving always prospers. Russell sped and disobeyed traffic laws in the automobile and almost beat safe driver Frank Lampley's bus full of Chamber of Commerce ladies, until police officer Dick Barlow intervened. California Rug Cleaning Co. is in the background

Test of a plan proposed to speed up peak-hour traffic on Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, March 1940

Description:
Test of a "streamlined" traffic plan proposed by street traffic engineer Ralph Dorsey for peak-hour traffic on Wilshire Boulevard. The plan included an off-set center lane and no left turns during peak times, the changes would affect Wilshire Blvd, Flower, Figueroa, and 8th streets. After much debate, the plan was eventually rejected by the City Council.
