Jeanne Haskell is accusing Hollywood promoters C. Ray Gilliland and Ralph L. Goetz of swindling $20,000 from her claiming that she was buying stocks in a fictitious organization called Dr. W. B. Mayo Laboratories, Inc.
On November 7, Clarence Barker of Barker Bros. Family Furniture Store, was charged with bigamy for marrying Anna McDonald while still married to Martha Barker. He was also charged for writing bad checks.
