Description:
Photograph, from left to right, of Mertie West and H. H. West, Jr. walking down an outcrop of boulders along the beach; they are viewed from above. Mertie and H. H. West walk across some rocks in the near distance at center. Both have their backs to the camera and stand below the camera. An outcrop of rocks stands behind Mertie's back and extends on an upward angle from the lower right corner towards the upper left corner. Beyond the rocks at left, the beach extends vertically along the left edge. The coastline runs along the line of the boulders and the beach. H. H., Jr. stands closer to the water. The rock he stands on juts out into the water to the right. Beachgoers sit atop the boulders at left and others play in the water at upper right.

A tall box decorated for Christmas stands at center, on a sidewalk. The bottom third of the box is decorated with a brick print and extends beyond the bottom edge of the image. Above the brick print, it reads, "It's Christmas ti[me]." Mertie West stands with the box, behind and to the left of it, and looks to the camera. She is viewed from a worm's-eye perspective. At right, a street is peeks from behind the box. Tall palm trees stand in the background.

An awning hangs over the sidewalk. A barber shop sign hangs down from the awning behind and to the right of H. H. Description:
Photograph of Mertie West drinking from the Pilgrim Spring fountain which stands outside the Plymouth Post Office Building. A sidewalk stretches along the bottom edge at an angle. The stone fountain stands off-center to the left. It is viewed at an angle from the front, facing slightly left. Atop the fountain, an inscribed tablet rises from the center of the fountain. It reads, "PILGRIM SPRING ON THE MEERSTEAD SET OFF TO ELDER WILLIAM BREWSTER IN THE ORIGINAL ALLOTMENT DECEMBER 1620 ERECTED BY THE TOWN 1915 FREELY DRINK AND QUENCH YOUR [...] HERE DRANK THE PILGRIM FATHERS [...]." Below the tablet, a spigot extends from the front of the fountain's base. Immediately behind and to the right of the fountain, Mertie West hunches over the right end of the fountain and drinks. She stands in profile, facing left. The brick exterior of the Post Office Building stands in partial view along the right half of the image, extending out-of-frame. In the background at left, houses are visible lining Leyden Street.

The allegorical statue is viewed at an angle from the back. Three seated figures representing, from left to right: Law, Education and Liberty, surround the bottom of the octagonal base. The figures face outward from the statue. Tablets are inset into the sides of the plinth, between the figures. Atop the the tall base, the figure of Faith stands. She is draped in a stola and raises her near hand to the sky. The monument towers over Mertie West, who stands at left, below the figure of Education. Mertie faces towards the camera.
