Description:
Photograph of a parade float passing down East Colorado Boulevard during the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena. The float is in the near distance at center. It features an anthropomorphized orange wearing a crown and holding out a basket of oranges. Along the skirt of the float it reads, "[...]DINO NATIONAL ORANGE SHOW." The float is partially obscured at left by the back of a spectator's head. Banners and other regalia hang from a line spanning over the street. Spectators line the opposite side of the street. Across the street at left is "HOWARD AUTOMOBI[...]," and at right is, "[undecipherable] BARBER SHOP."

Description:
Photograph of spectators lining East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena to watch the Tournament of Roses parade. The photographer stands behind spectators standing on the south side of East Colorado Boulevard. The spectators nearest to the photographer have their backs towards the camera. On the opposite side of the road, spectators stand in front of Bard's Colorado Theater. The marquis reads, "BARD'S C[...]S LAUGHTON AND CAROLE LOMBARD [T]HEY KNEW WHAT THEY WANTED [GA]RY COOPER 'THE WESTERNER' BANK SPIN TOTALING 1000." Additional spectators stand atop the theater's marquis and sit in a balcony on the theater's tower. Flags hang on a line over East Colorado Boulevard. At near right, a few spectators stand behind a barrier and a person's elbow juts into the frame.

Description:
Prize-winning parade float featuring women in costume representing one of the "Big Five" nations: the United States, England, France, China, and Russia. The float was sponsored by the International Association of Machinists, District Lodge 727, and engineers from the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation. The float was used in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in 1946. The women in the photograph are from left to right: Sherry Purkiser, Miss Russia; Ronnie Baukand, Miss China; Marjorie Hemmingway, Miss United States; Patricia Kubelka, Miss France; and Jeanne Gilliland, Miss England.

"Circus Days" float in the Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena, 1949

Description:
Photograph of the "Circus Days" float, entered by the Standard Oil Co. of California, in the Tournament of Roses Parade (Pasadena Rose Parade). The float is constructed in several sections and is headed by a floral covered elephant ridden by a live circus girl. The words "Circus Days" are spelled out in flowers on the platform. The elephant is followed by two elaborate cage wagons and a floral giraffe standing on a platform with imitation trees and shrubs. An additional float is viewed in the background. Banners with rose designs hang above the Pasadena street alongside banners with iconic illustrations and text reading "Childhood Memories." Throngs of spectators line the parade route that is populated by businesses - including a Bank of America, Save Way Drug, and Mobil gas station (signs out of view in this image). One building advertises "Real Estate" above its portico.
