Description:
An out-of-focus photograph of Glen Velzy standing in a pond and picking up a duck he shot while visiting the Sunset Gun Club. Glen Velzy wades in the pond, left-of-center. He bends over, facing towards the camera, to pick up a duck out of the water. Beneath his other arm, he carries his rifle. The pond stretches into the distance behind him. A dozen or so duck decoys float behind Glen. An embankment lines the opposite end of the pond in the background.

The group is clustered together on an embankment, left-of-center. Keeper Hardy kneels at far left and looks to the camera. Next to him, Theodore Lohman stands and holds a gun over his shoulder as he looks towards the left. H. H. West stands to the right of Lohman and looks to the camera. In front of H. H. West, Frank Mellus kneels on the ground while handling the ducks. He faces towards the left and looks to the camera. Several ducks lie on the ground in front of the group. Description:
Photograph of an old screened hut on the Sunset Gun Club grounds, overgrown with weeds and going to ruin. A large streak of white stretches from the lower right corner and up to the left, obscuring the bottom portion of the image. In the near distance at center, the screened hut, formerly used for cleaning ducks, stands. The small square hut is viewed at an angle. Wood slats surround the bottom of the structure and screening surrounds the upper third of it. To the left, tall grasses and weeds grow in clump that intrudes upon the hut. Wetlands are visible extending into the distance at right.

Photograph of the old Sunset Gun Club clubhouse near Seal Beach, as viewed from the southwest. Overgrown grasses span the foreground and mid-ground. A narrow dirt road passes across the image, bisecting the stretches of grass. In the near distance, a wire fence runs parallel to the dirt road. The dilapidated former clubhouse of the Sunset Gun Club stands at center, just beyond the fence. It is viewed at an angle. The roof and siding appear to be in disrepair. Another structure and water tower stand behind and to the left of it. Tall grasses and weeds surround the house and other buildings.

Photograph of H. H. West standing near a blind on the shooting grounds of the Sunset Gun Club and holding onto a rifle and ducks. H. H. West stands at center, on an embankment that stretches across the foreground, and leans forward while facing slightly towards the right. He holds the barrel of a rifle in one hand and from the other, a couple ducks dangle towards the ground. Ducks lie on the ground in front of him, piled up next to the blind. The blind is surrounded by tall grasses and chicken wire in the lower right corner. Behind him, a large pond sprawls into the distance.

Photograph of the Sunset Gun Club clubhouse, viewed from the back. The clubhouse stands in the near distance at center and is viewed at an angle from the back; it narrows as it extends towards the right. The house stands elevated from the ground. Four windows line the back side of the wood-paneled structure. Clotheslines stretch from the sides of the house, across the image and out of frame at right. There appears to be some damage to the negative. What appear to be white fingerprint-shaped marks dot the image in 3 places and what looks to be a bleached "E" shape sits between them.
