35-year-old William Focher was mistakenly shot by police, believed to have held up the Olympic Auditorium. He got into an altercation with Lou Daro and Det. Lt. Sanderson claimed officers believed Focher and his companion John Moore were bandits.
Shortly after an altercation with wrestling promoter Lou Daro 35-year-old William Focher was shot by police officers after they had confused him for a bandit. After several hours of being treated at the hospital he died. Moore was in company of Focher at the time of the shooting and was held in jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
William Focher was shot dead by police after they misapprehended him as a hold-up suspect. Even though wrestling promoter Lou Daro was not responsible for Focher's death he gifted Focher's widow with $5000.
