Attorney and former Judge Robert M. Clarke adjusts the costume of Lawyer Norman A. Bailie. The men participated in a pageant presented by the Los Angeles Bar Association, "The Making of the Constitution of the United States of America," at the Philharmonic Auditorium. Bailie was portraying Robert Morris of Philadelphia, and the other participants played other authors of the United States Constitution.
Norman Bailie (right) was an attorney, president of the Los Angeles Bar Association in 1930, and Elks Lodge No. 99 ruler. From there he was elected president of the State Bar of California beginning 1934.

The American Bar Association held their 1935 convention in Los Angeles with events at the Biltmore and Philharmonic Auditorium. Approximately 3,000 barristers from around the country were in attendance.
