Description:: On February 7, 1936, District Attorney Buron Fitts was acquitted of perjury regarding a 1931 testimony over the sale of a Claremont orange grove. Mrs. Berthall Gregory, Fitts’ sister, sold the grove to Lucien C. Wheeler. Fitts reportedly falsified the amount of money he received through the sale. The perjury trial lasted three weeks.

Louisa confessed to killing one boy; Walter Collins and was sentenced to life in prison. Gordon was tried and convicted on 3 counts for murdering Louis & Nelson Winslow & an unidentified Latino boy. He was executed by hanging on October 2, 1930.
