Workers prepare ankle-deep mud in the wrestling ring for a match between Sandor Szabo and Prince Bhu Pinder at Olympic Auditorium. This type of wrestling is considered "Hindu style" and it has slightly different rules than regular wrestling, including prohibiting holds beneath the waist. During the match, the first three rows were roped off and the press and referees wore rubber wear to protect from mud splatter. Szabo won the match in front of more than 8000 spectators

Description:
Wrestler Dean Detton about to slam his opponent Kiman Kudo into the mat at Olympic Auditorium. The match was mixed-style. Kudo was awarded the first round after Detton was so enraged by Kudo's jiu jitsu skills that he ripped off Kudo's jacket. The second round was catch-as-catch-can style. Detton won this with the move shown in the picture and Kudo was unable to return for a third round, so Detton was declared the winner.
