Description:: C.T. Nolan, strike chairman of the Pacific Electric section of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, with O.R. Newhouse, J.S. Newman, W.P. Cook, and L.R. Spindel, other members of the strike committee, receiving news that their planned 2:00 am worker walkout had been blocked by President Roosevelt. The President had appointed a commission to negotiate the Brotherhood's disputes over unfair wages and hours. It was agreed that, during the negotiations, the strike would be postponed.
