The float of the Rose Parade Queen, Muriel Cowan, features a large Russian Firebird composed of yellow chrysanthemums and lavender sweet peas at the front and three Russian mosques with domes covered in yellow pompoms at the back, behind the queen's throne. The queen is accompanied by six attendants (Dorothy Bruce, Emily Bettainer, Lynn Smith, Shirley Chamberlain, Catherine Butler and Lucille Spelts) and four outwalkers in gowns and veils are also visible, including Manon Harder in front on the left.

Float with 2 floral oxen pulling a cart in front of arches reminiscent of California missions. The float was entered by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and is shown at the intersection of Orange Grove Blvd. and Colorado Blvd.
"Little Boy Blue" float with a haystack, cows, sheep and lambs with 3 girl shepherdesses in front and little boy blue next to the haystack. The float was entered by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
"The Colorado River Aqueduct" float at the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Orange Grove. The float represents a snow-covered mountain, valleys and desert with an arbor at the back. The float was entered by the Metropolitan Water District.
The "Poinsettia Sea Serpent" float was designed and made by the students of Ventura Junior College and entered by the city of Ventura. The float was 60 feet long and required 2 trucks. The dragon's eyes rolled and its tongue darted in and out as it opened and closed its mouth.
"Dream of Youth" float depicting a fairyland theme in the early morning with a silver moon setting. A figure of a young man with his arms open is at the front of the float and a queen is seated in the center. The float is seen at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Orange Grove. Entered by the Pasadena Water Department.
"Dawn" float with 4 white horses in flowers drawing a golden chariot driven by Apollo, portrayed by Warren Jones. Behind Apollo is a representation of the dawn with a rising sun on Mount Olympus. The Pasadena Memorial Flagpole (Goodhue Flagpole) is visible behind the float in its original location in the middle of the intersection of Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevard. The float was entered by the Pasadena Water Department.
"Casino at Catalina Island" float with a floral replica of the casino with little Barbara Ann Pitzer as a fairy waving her wand, Marion Sloane and Hermine Sierks in bathing costume riding swordfish, and 2 outwalkers in winged costumes. The Pasadena Memorial Flagpole (Goodhue Flagpole) is visible behind the float in its original location in the middle of the intersection of Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevard.
"Rainbow and the Pot of Gold" float with four fairies seated on a half rainbow and a mound of oranges representing the pot of gold at the base of the rainbow. Three outwalkers holding streamers are visible. The float is seen at the intersection of Colorade Blvd. and Orange Grove Blvd. Entered by the city of Covina.
