The Spanish Colonial Revival style building was designed by Reginald D. Johnson and opened in December 1927. The Santa Barbara Biltmore was acquired by Four Seasons Hotels in 1987. The hotel is currently called, Four Seasons Resort—The Biltmore Santa Barbara, but is generally known as The Biltmore.
