- Description:
- A blurry photograph of servicemen firing a cannon during Decoration (Memorial) Day services at Los Angeles National Cemetery while a spectator watches. The cannon stands, left-of-center, in an open field. It is viewed from the side with its muzzle facing towards the right. A serviceman stands in front of the cannon at right with his back turned to the camera. He stands back from the cannon and holds a ramrod upright in his right hand. Another serviceman stands behind the cannon at left. He faces the camera, but turns to look back towards the left. Another man stands at center in front of the camera. His back is to the camera as he appears to walk towards the cannon. A thick cloud of smoke billows out from the muzzle of the cannon at right. Mountains rise in the far distance.
