- Opera singers performing in Act 1 of Die Fledermaus. One male, wearing a tailcoat and tuxedo pants, portrays Gabriel von Einstein. He sings at center and is flanked two women - at right, a singer in the role of his wife, Rosalind; at left, her chambermaid, Adele. The setting is of a home interior with tables, chairs, a settee and an ornate privacy partition. Potted plants create a backdrop for the open-air stage. Beyond the stage, two accompanying pianists can be viewed situated on a walkway separating the stage from a small reflecting pool pictured at middle ground, with audience members seen at foreground. Performed August 27, 1965, during the 28th annual “Symphonies by the Sea” event, Open-Air Memorial Theater, Santa Monica High School Campus.
