Description:: Photo of 15-year-old Emma Boyts sitting on a chair on top of a desk before she was hit by a truck while crossing San Fernando Road. Boyts was only injured but her friend, 12-year-old Luise Schoenemann, was killed. The truck driver, Clarence E. Anderson, was held on suspicion of manslaughter after the crossing guard told police that Anderson ignored his motions to halt traffic while the two girls crossed.

Description:: Howard Jones, USC football coach from 1925-1940, bowling. Jones led the University of Southern California Trojans to four Rose Bowls, winning all of them. Jones also coached at Syracuse, Yale, Ohio State, University of Iowa, and Duke. He also won the Rose Bowl with Yale. It was host to minor league baseball teams and home of the Los Angeles Angeles. The field is named after the same Wrigley as Wrigley Field in Chicago, but it actually received the name first and had more on-site parking than Chicago's field does now.
