The Casa de Don Dolores Sepúlveda was an adobe home an adobe home located near San Vicente Springs at South Bundy Drive and Nebraska Ave. José Dolores Sepúlveda, b. 1826-1905, was the son of Francisco Sepúlveda, holder of the original land grant for Rancho San Vicente y Santa Monica. The home was once part of Rancho San Vicente.

Woman with cat, probably the wife of artist Stanley Reckless, in the studio of their Silver Lake home, Los Angeles, 1930-1939

Description:
Stanley Reckless was born Stanley Zbytniewski. In 1913 he enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), studied under Daniel Garber. In 1915, 1916 he was awarded 2 Cresson Traveling Scholarships, and traveled to Paris, enrolling briefly at the Academie Julian. In 1920 he moved to Lumberville, Pennsylvania and started exhibiting at PAFA, the National Academy of Design, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. In 1924 he settled in New Hope, Pennsylvania, where he painted the landscape and shared a studio with Charles Hargens. In 1930 he moved to California where he painted portraits of members of the film industry. He co-founded the Art Center School in Los Angeles.

Description:
Members of the Woman's Relief Corps and additional participants at a tree dedication ceremony at the Sawtelle Veterans Home. A woman stands at the fore of the group holding a small box and an open program or leaflet. Six women wearing light-colored attire stand behind her, with five of the six women bearing flags over their right shoulders. Each woman wears a badge on her chest (some are Woman's Relief Corps badges with the characteristic Maltese cross attached to a ribbon and bar pin). The group is joined by several men and women. One man standing at far right holds a document with title, "Commemorative Tree Marker," followed by illegible text and an image of a rectangular plaque (inscription begins with "This Tree"). The photo was possibly taken on Veterans Day, November 11, 1938.

Description:
Photograph of the new Wolfe & Sons furniture store on the site of the old La Crescenta building along North Broadway (formerly Downey Avenue). North Broadway spans the foreground on an upward angle from right to left. The new Wolfe building sits along the right side of the street, facing slightly left. A car is parked in front of the building, right-of-center. The art deco-styled building is partitioned into thirds. Each is lined with windows along the first floor. Shorter windows span the second floor. "WESTERN AUTO SUPPLY CO." occupies the rightmost segment of the building. A sign hangs in the upper window and reads, "[...] TIRE SALE [...]!" Wolfe & Sons furniture occupies the center and left segments of the building. An awning hangs over the sidewalk in the center of the business and a large vertical sign rises from it. The sign reads, "WOLFE & SONS." Sitting atop this sign is a horizontally oriented sign which reads, "FURNITURE AND APPLIANCES." Signs hang in the windows across the first floor.
