The creation of a commission for the social recognition of traditional doctors is proposed. The mistakes and successes of the event were discussed, as well as the importance that Mexicans should become interested in learning about traditional Mexican medicine, since even foreigners travel to learn about it. Clase sobre el baño de temazcal. Introducción a la herbolaria tradicional mexicana, parte 1
- Description:
ENGLISH: Dr. Horacio Rojas gives a class on the construction and operation of a temazcal. He mentions herbal treatments for puerperium and different ailments, such as flu, asthmatic crisis, hypertension or arthritis. A visit and temazcal bath is organized the following day and fasting is indicated prior to this purification process. Carlos Gómez, from the Tolhuilli National Institute of Traditional Medicine, offers an introduction on the classification and use of plants according to their properties. He mentions that the foundations of traditional Mexican medicine were lost after the Spanish Conquest, as the indigenous people were forced to perform it in a pseudo-clandestine manner. He explains the concepts that govern the indigenous cosmovision: duality and complementarity; the triad that includes mind, spirit, and body; the four elements: water, earth, fire, air; and four qualities in nature: heat, cold, dry and humid. He exemplifies how these qualities are present in the emotions that affect the physical body and cause diseases, as well as the treatments that can be used to return to balance.

ENGLISH: Unedited version of the third part of the plenary meeting of EZLN's National Democratic Convention in Los Aguascalientes, Chiapas. Subcomandante Marcos expresses his discomfort because a group of convention participants wants to convince them to surrender. Later, he mentions that EZLN respected the presidential elections and did not interfere in them, as the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) had claimed, but they are willing to defend a clean election if the convention so decides. He comments that the so-called "ultras" are wrong when they affirm that EZLN called for abstentionism and reproached them for dedicating themselves more to discourse than to action. Subsequently, Major Moisés, a member of the EZLN command, said that the government has exhausted peaceful means and the armed movement is only a response to this lack of alternatives. He says that by decision of the convention they have not accepted any government aid, since they respect the decisions of the people.
