SPANISH: Asunta Arias Tarque y su hija Flora Choque Arias, guiadas por Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold, realizan diálogos en aymara sobre los siguientes temas: 1. Saludar a su padre, el uso de los verbos aymara para llamar (jawsaña), y para llegar (puriña), sobre su casa, el tejido y los diseños (salta), el verbo aymara para cocinar (payaña), sobre la enfermedad (usuta) y el verbo aymara para cargar (q’ipiña). En respuesta a preguntas, ellas describen las actividades en el mes de agosto, quienes toman (umaña), qué comen (maq’aña), que comprarían (alasiña) si tuviesen mucho dinero, me enseñas a tejer (sawuña), sobre el tiempo de milagros, sobre los nombres (suti) de los parientes, sobre las causas de emborracharse (machaña), cómo se elabora la chicha de maíz (k’usa), sobre quién hace pan (t’ant’a) y el costo de esto. Otro diálogo que hacen concierne el encuentro entre dos pastoras (awatiri), sobre el zorro (liq’uchi), sobre perder (chhaqhayaña) ovejas, sobre cómo curar (qullaña) enfermedades y sobre el dolor del estómago (puraka). Además mencionan el uso de los verbos aymaras para ir (saraña) y comprar (alaña), cómo saludar (aruntaña) después de un viaje, sobre el matrimonio (kasarasiña), sobre la herencia (tuti anakiña), sobre marcar (k'illphaña) los animales de los rebaños de llama y oveja, y la llegada de la fiesta devocional del Padre Oro o Tata Quri. 2. SPANISH: María Ayca Llanque habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre tres temas: 1. La montaña local Jujchu llamada Niña María Jujchu T’alla. Le dan de comer (manq'aña) doce platos, que incluye la papa deshidratada (ch'uñu), mote de maíz, mote de haba, harina tostada con agua (phiri), harina de trigo (tirak phiri), arveja, carne (aycha), tripas cocidas (jiphilla wayku o chunchulla), fideo, arroz, y por encima le colocan maíz molido y lo ponen al pie de Jujchu. Este rito se hace cuando llegan de los valles (likina) las llamas delanteros, como una forma de pedir al cerro que las llamas (qarwa) sean protegidas en los viajes y de los zorros (liq’uchi) durante el pastoreo. Narra del cerro Phiri Phiri es considerado el hijo de la montaña Jujchu y de la montaña Turu. Jujchu sería la mujer, porque desde allí desciende el agua (jujchu jalaqiri), y Turu es el hombre. 2. Luego habla de los pasantes de las fiestas devocionales. Cuenta que, para la fiesta de Candelaria, su papá fue pasante y preparó cerveza de maíz (k’usa). Para la comida, hizo matar llamas y ovejas, y primero sirvieron la comida amarilla en un caldo de gallina (wallpa kaltu) y carne de oveja teñida con palillo, con mote, asado de carne (aycha kanka), caldo de papalisa y caldo de ch'uñu. Comenta que ella fue pasante de la fiesta de Mama Guadalupe y de jovencita (palachu) ha pasado la fiesta de San Antonio. También asumió el cargo de postillón en el tambo de Livichuco. 3. Cuenta que desde sus 6 años aprendió a tejer el t'isnu (una cinta tejida, larga y delgada que se usa para sujetar la pollera), el awayu (la manta de la mujer para cargar bultos en la espalda), el poncho (la prenda de vestir de los varones), la tullma (una cinta tejida para sujetar las trenzas de la mujer), y el costal. 2. Los tejidos que se teje para las fiestas son la tullma, awayu y el poncho. 3. El uso de los instrumentos para tejer (sawuña) que incluyen los palos del telar (lawa kila, manq'a tila y alax tila) y la lanzadera o qipa lawa. 4. SPANISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa habla con Juan de Dios Yapita de los siguientes temas: 1. Que él es del Norte de Potosí, de la estancia Cóndor Pampa, de 69 años, y que su esposa es Teresa Cucho Montaño con quien tuvo doce hijos, de los que algunos fallecieron. 2. Las libaciones a los cerros (Waynasitu) en el mes de agosto. Preparan ofrendas con feto de llama (sullu), fibra de llama hilada a la izquierda (ch'iqa ch’ankha), y singani, para que proteja de los granizos y evitar el destrozo de los cultivos. 3. Las ofrendas (waxt’a) son preparadas sin sal. Son diferentes para la comida y para los animales. Para que no falte comida ofrecen el riñón de las llamas (qarwa kapuna). 4. Los sabios (yatiri) que no entrega buena ofrenda a los cerros pueden enfermar e incluso fallecer. 5. Los sabios (yatiri) son médicos y curanderos desde tiempos de los incas que usan en su práctica la lectura de la hoja de la coca. 6. Don Domingo indica que también es partero que ayudó algunas mujeres que venían con complicaciones a tener sus bebés. 7. Los servicios obligatorios de los originarios como postillón en la provincia Alonso de Ibáñez. 8. Las peleas entre comunarios de arriba (alasaya) y de abajo (manqhasaya). El tinku es una palabra en quechua, en aymara es nuwasiña, en el que se atacaban con grandes piedras lastimándose, y 9. SPANISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold primero sobre el hacer las ofrendas (liwaña o waxt’aña) a los cerros (qullu). Se prepara primero el altar-mesa con varios ingredientes, como maíz blanco (janq’u tunqu), maíz amarillo (q’illu tunqu), canela y azúcar, entre otros. Además, deben colocar singani en ollitas para cada cerro. Como parte importante de la ofrenda está la sangre de una oveja o llama blanca, que se mezcla con harina de maíz amarillo y maíz blanco (chapu phiri) que se da a los cerros antes de que salga el sol, cuando se empieza las libaciones o ch’alla para tener buena suerte (surti) durante todo el año. Este rito debe ir acompañado de hojas de coca (inal mama). La ofrenda a la Pachamama se da al mismo tiempo que a los cerros. También preparan un altar-mesa para pedir por los animales, cuando se menciona a ciertos santos como San Francisco y San Antonio. En este rito, las mujeres cantan a los animales (warat'aña) como las ovejas y llamas, y piden para el dinero, el maíz, la papa y otros productos agrícolas. Don Domingo explica con detalle la importancia de cada ingrediente que debe llevar el altar-mesa y porque debe colocarse. Las ofrendas a las minas son distintas. En aquellas ofrendas se pide al espíritu de la mina (pinta munu) por el mineral como el estaño. El elemento más importante de la ofrenda es el azúcar moldeado en forma de cuadrado plano (alphinika) que debe ser molido y mezclado con sangre, canela y palo de muña (q’uwa), un arbusto aromático.<br>ENGLISH: Domingo Jiménez Aruquipa talks to Juan de Dios Yapita and Denise Y. Arnold first about making offerings (liwaña o waxt’aña) to the mountains (qullu). The altar-table is first prepared with various ingredients such as white corn (janq'u tunqu), yellow corn (q'illu tunqu), cinnamon and sugar, among others. Los sacudones (thathapiña) fuertes que se usan para acomodar al bebé con presentación de pie, o a los que están envueltos en el cuello con el cordón umbilical (kururu). 2. De los bebés (wawa) que nacen sacando primero los pies (kayulla), que serán personas que no hay que maldecirlas. 3. De los partos que atendió con una presentación de mano, en Oruro, en Chuquisaca, en Cochabamba y en su estancia. 4. Comenta de los masajes (qaquña) que realizó a varias mujeres para acomodar a sus bebés que se encontraban en mala posición, para evitar complicaciones en el momento del parto. 5. Luego comenta de los evangélicos que acuden a las comunidades hablando del juicio de las aguas que afectará a los católicos, y que predican de la salvación a un lugar lleno de oro y los que no se convirtieren a esa doctrina entraran al infierno. 6. Comenta del establecimiento de una casa de culto que pretenden hacer los evangélicos para sus reuniones. 7. Los evangélicos son los que atraen los fuertes granizos que destruyen los cultivos, porque se olvidan de la Pachamama. Comenta de una persona llamada Ignacio que tenía muchos animales, muchos productos y mucho dinero, pero en cuanto llegaron los pastores evangélicos al lugar se acabaron sus animales, la comida y se empobreció porque dejó de ofrecer sacrificios a la Pachamama, y 10. Describe los tipos de predisposición de cuerpo de las mujeres que se observa en el parto, al que llama kamiri. Los que tienen el kamiri de animales tienden a tener un parto fácil. 2. Comenta de su viaje a Tarija al reencuentro con un tal Dr. Ceciliano quien le hizo llamar y le preguntó de las leyes del Inca después de haber leído el libro "Hacia un orden andino de las cosas", escrito conjuntamente con Denise Y. Arnold y Juan de Dios Yapita. 3. De los impuestos que podría establecerse por todas las cosas, aún de la vestimenta. 4. Habla de la mujer fértil que se embarazan rápido, la que es llamada kastilla, porque tiene muchos hijos pequeños (mira kasta). En cambio las mujeres que se embarazan después de un tiempo, se la conocen como wakaya. 5. SPANISH: Lucía Quispe Choque habla con Juan de Dios Yapita y Denise Y. Arnold sobre las actividades de los tres días de la fiesta de Todos Santos. Jueves es el día de los angelitos o las almas de los niños, el viernes es el día de las almas de personas mayores y se reza por ellos, y el sábado es el despacho de las almas cuando se reza, se come y se bebe. Comenta que se deben realizar libaciones (ch’alla) para el Pueblo de la Gloria, Gloria marka, para la sepultura, para la esquina del alma, para todo (taqpacha) y para el clima (ch'isi). El brindis para los angelitos se dirige para el monte (muntitaki). Durante esta festividad se debe pedir bendiciones para el lado derecho (kupi) y para despachar a las almas se hace libaciones por el lado izquierdo (ch’iqa). Para la llegada de las almas se debe preparar su ropa, preparar platos como quinua cocida con leche (p’isqi), quinua graneada y cocida sin sal (phisara), haba cocida (muti) y carne (aycha). Esto se debe comer a nombre de los muertos o las almas. Se debe elaborar guaguaes de pan (t’ant’a wawa) que representen a los muertos, y el que debe rezar para comérselas es el yerno (tullqa).
