A faint sound of a bowed string instrument can be heard as an accompanying instrument in the recording. The songs are about a wedding episode within a devotional narrative.1. The ritual performance consists of narrating the story of Amba Mata, the female deity, with Dhak and Thali accompaniment. Amba is a female deity whose narrative is sung and performed during the Gavri festival in eastern Rajasthan. Most devotees of Amba mata and Gavri are members of the Bhil community of Rajasthan.

Description:: Proceedings of a seminar on the topic of cultural, economic and social significance of Bajra (pearl millet) crop in India, held at Rupayan Sansthan, Borunda, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi. This tape contains an introductory note to the seminar, given by a male speaker and a lecture by Chandidan Detha.1. Komal kothari introduces a speaker who initiates the discussion on the topic of Bajra (pearl millet) grain, its agriculture in Rajasthan and the tradition and modern perspectives on the usage of water. 2. A lecture presentation by Chandidan Detha on the local vocabulary and knowledge systems about agriculture of Bajra (pearl millet), the problems associated with modern agriculture and shortage of water Rajasthan. 3. Chandidan Detha answers a question by Komal Kothari on how an area is traditionally select for digging for water. Detha recites a few anecdotes and demonstrates the success of traditional wisdom with the help of some geographical examples of water bodies. Detha also talks about the value of planting more trees for water conservation.
