- Description:
He mentions that this area has been a traditional pulque-growing area, but since the 1960s they have opted to plant nopal cactus. He also comments that President Miguel Alemán donated the forested area to the Loreto y Peña Pobre company, which generated resistance from the community towards this paper company, until they managed to expel it in 1980, after having burned five thousand cubic meters of wood. Subsequently, he refers that for the last eighty years they have been owed a communal distribution of lands gained in the Land Reform, but they have not been given them because there has always been the idea of turning this town into a real estate zone. Estanislao explains that this would greatly affect Mexico City, since it would be left without a forested area, which would cause flooding and would end the city's last supply of drinking water.
