“New Moon” cast members, Barnum Hall, Santa Monica, 1949
- Description:
- Santa Monica Civic Opera singers from a production of “The New Moon.” Four men, in late 18th century costumes (long jackets, breeches, stockings, and tricorn hats), stand in front of a backdrop painted to look like a brick building with an elaborate ironwork balcony, dormered windows, decorative columns, and a pediment above the functioning doorway. The setting is the “Café Creole” in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. A microphone can be seen at the foot of the stage.
