Description:
Photograph of (L to R) Hedda Hopper, Dorothy Chandler, Clara Schofield and Peggy Hamilton at an event of the 7th annual meeting of the American Newspaper Publishers' Association. The event was for the wives and daughters of the delegates who were guests at a dinner and entertainment which included a fashion show at the Cafe de Paris in Fox Movietone City hosted by Dorothy Chandler. Clara Schofield was one of the honor guests and Hamilton directed the fashion show. The fashion show featured gowns for movies designed by Max Ree of R.-K.-O. studios and Adrian of M.-G.-M. studios. The event was also attended by film actresses, including Hedda Hopper. Hamilton is wearing a form-fitting gown made of daybreak chiffon velvet with a flaring train trimmed with sable designed by Dolly Tree of Fox Studios. On the left shoulder is a spray of French hand-made gold thread flowers. The imported gloves have a narrow insert of gold kid.

Description:
Peggy Hamilton, as Hostess of Los Angeles County, with ten admirals and others at the Los Angeles Breakfast Club for a pre-Fourth of July appreciation of the Navy. In front of the group is a sawhorse mascot of the Breakfast Club with a horse's head and tail, labeled "HAM." In the photograph are: Rear-Admiral Bloch, Burr McIntosh, Rear-Admiral Taussig, Rear-Admiral Fenner, Rear-Admiral Marshall, Rear-Admiral Cluverius, Vice-Admiral Standley, Mrs. Schofield, Admiral Schofield, Vice-Admiral McNance, Peggy Hamilton, Vice-Admiral Clark and Rear-Admiral Sellers (this order, from the newspaper caption, is probably not entirely accurate). The Los Angeles Breakfast Club was located at 3213 Riverside Drive in 1932.

Peggy Hamilton modeling a dress with a fitted, sleeveless bodice and full skirt. The dress fabric is light in color with a starkly contrasting dark floral embroidery incorporating sequins and stitched on bands of netting. The shoulder bows and satin gloves are also in a dark color. Hamilton is shown against a sharply contrasting background in black on the right and a painting of a street or walkway with ornamental building facades on either side in deep recession (perhaps a movie backdrop) on the left.
