- Brooks Clothing of California, Ltd. operated Brooks Clothing Company and Brooks Uniform Shop. Brooks Clothing Company chiefly sold men's clothing (though several locations also sold women's apparel). There were 15 California stores noted in 1944, the year the company was sued by the Brooks Brothers corporation (New York City) for trademark infringement, including locations at 644 South Broadway (downtown Los Angeles), in Hollywood at Hollywood Blvd. and Vine, and in Long Beach, San Jose, Santa Ana, Pasadena and San Diego.
