Description:: Undersheriff Eugene Biscailuz (right) is participating in a skit alongside Monte Montague, an actor in the role of a Keystone cop, who seems to be playfully grabbing his neck. Picnic spectators sitting in benches alongside eucalyptus trees watch from behind. This was during the eighth annual Sheriff's Relief Association picnic. Monte Montague was an actor known for his roles in The Radio Detective (1926), A Western Demon (1922) and Clancy of the Mounted (1933). Description:: Undersheriff Gene Biscailuz, wearing fez, standing with cowboy escort and Indians from New Mexico at the Santa Fe (La Grande) Station. In all, 61 American Indians traveled from Gallup, New Mexico, to perform ceremonial dances at a Shriners' convention and included members of the following tribes: Hopi, Zuni, Laguna, Cochiti, Navajo, and Cherokee. In this image, wearing a Shriner's hat, he greets Navajo Indians at a train station. On the left is Tall Scout (aka Slau-ee-Nez), a Navajo who had worked as a scout and tracker for the U. S. Army. On his right is a Navajo man named Willow Fence. On the far left holding a blanket is B. I. Staples, a white man who joined the Navajo tribe in 1923.
