Pete Kreis (Albert Jacob Peter Kreis) was a race car driver from Knoxville, (Tenn.), active from 1925 to 1934, when he crashed and died at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during a practice run for the Indy 500.
In July 1935, Robert E. Thomas, an actor, claimed that he was the cast-off son of May Yohe and Putnam Bradley Strong, who was wealthy and socially prominent. Thomas had been adopted by E. R. Thomas, an apartment manager in Hollywood.
